It has been quite some time since I last blogged. Of course, I have never done a lot of blogging so I consider myself a beginner. I am not sure if anyone will ever read this, but I'm just putting it out there for whomever wishes to check it out.
The kids and I went on a little field trip Wed. to see Santa Clara MIssion for Aaron's 4th grade mission report. {Sarah is sleeping in the stroller}I have to figure out if there is a better way to post pictures. There must be some sort of trick that I haven't figured out yet. ONE DAY, I will figure it out, I'm sure. BUT NOT TODAY!!!
The last 12 years, my husband has worked very hard to be an organic chemist. He is one of the hardest workers I have ever known. He is honest and friendly and ethical. All traits hard to find these days. He has one week left at his current job at Telik, Inc. They will give him some sort of severence package, but it won't be much. We do have our home secure with no risk of losing it, and we don't have any big debt (thank goodness we don't have a car payment or credit cards!!!) but I'm not sure how everything else will be covered. WHat about health care, auto insurance, groceries? We are blessed to be members of a church that can help us for some time. However, there are so many in need right now that we may have to take a number and hope there is enough to go around.
Searching for a job in this economy is like playing the LOTTO. We've been looking for a few months now without any luck. We are now looking abroad for something. ANYTHING!!! I'm a little excited about the prospect of moving to France. William has dual citizenship so the kids can get dual citizenship as well. It would be great to go live in France, Belgium or French-speaking Switzerland for a bit so the kids {and I} could pick up a little FRancais. Plus, my cousin and her family live in Germany, and I would love to see her again. {I think it's been 10+ years}
