Trip to Ruby Valley, Nevada

A huntin' we will go...

The boys go out and shoot some bows and arrows. They were trying to find a duck to shoot out of the sky. All they found was a headless Sparrowhawk and a deer leg (which is in Paul's right hand;)

The Thomas Crew

We went to help the Neffs pick out a Christmas tree on a hillside down the road. It was funny to see Sage bush, Pines and Cacti all in the same spot. NO SNOW, though. That was a big disappointment only to some.

Sarah had so much fun outside just wandering around.

Everybody (except those taking pictures and Grandpa) at the tree-cutting party. We hiked up, took pictures, cut tree, hiked down. So it wasn't the type of party refreshments are served. It was cold so we didn't linger very long.

Aaron took every opportunity possible to be outside. He stayed out until time to eat, time to change wet shoes/pants, or until it got too dark. He explored the icy creek, tree forts, fallen branch bridges, and anything that looked peculiar to him. He kept saying how he would like to live there so he could explore. Sarah and I went on one of his nomadic adventures.

We all had a wonderful time!!!

Fun in the sun

Princess Miriam on Halloween

We went to the beach near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The kids had so much fun digging in the sand. They would start digging in one spot, move to another spot and dig some more, roll over and make sand angels, get up and run around, etc. They dug so many holes in rapid succession that they reminded us of Meerkats.

WE also went for a little canoe trip on Lexington Resevoir. The lake is VERY low on water so we had to hike way down to the launch pad. We paddled for a little while, hiked around, found a dead fish, saw some funny birds, and some interesting items that used to be under water. (i.e. a mattress, old tires, glass bottles) The bottom of the lake was all cracked so it seemed as though we were walking on another planet. We also walked through a huge pipe waterway that was dry as a bone. Aaron almost fell in the water as he was helping William pull the canoe out of the water.

These are two more pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes. They had so much fun pretending to be the Three Musketeers and a princess. Sarah was a little pumpkin.
